The Pittsburgh Pirates have done manager John Russell a favor by firing him. The Pirates were 57-105 this year which had them in last place in the N.L. Central, 34 games behind the Reds! Russell was 186-299 (38.4% in his three years of managing the Pirates. The Pirates’ record got worse in each year with Russell calling the shots. In my opinion the Pirates need to hire a veteran manager like the Orioles did with Buck Showalter who brings a winning attitude into the dugout & clubhouse.
